Deanna Villa
Owner, Master Practitioner
I began my massage practice in 1998 and began teaching in 2002. I live and breathe Thai Massage, the principals of loving kindness and compassion resonate for me and have helped me grow as a person.
When I first meet a client, I like to pour us a cup of tea and chat a little. I feel that’s a great way to begin a relationship. Once the massage begins, I can settle in and connect with my client both on a physical level and on this energetic spiritual level. I can feel them unravelling under my hands. When they start to let go, then I know we’re building trust. It’s a privilege to lay hands on a client and have them feel safe under my hands. We’re all so starved to be open and unafraid with each other and to experience metta (loving kindness) through a compassionate touch. That is the magic equation in Thai Massage. I believe Thai Massage can heal the world: one person lovingly working on another person is how we can bring peace in the world. I am an intuitive, compassionate and experienced body worker, tailoring sessions to the clients needs. Working cookie-cutter routines has never been my thing. I work intuitively, connecting well with others. After a session many client's mention feeling clarity, peace and balance, I am grateful for the opportunities to connect with others.
Juan Villa Owner,
Master Practitioner
I’ve been practicing energy work for over 30 years. I was introduced to Thai Massage by Deanna, and found it to be the best experience of any body work I have received or given. I have been studying Thai Massage for over ten years and have studied in Canada and Thailand. In addition to Thai Massage, I am a Reiki master and I practice Craniosacral. I love the energy of the massage and the results that the clients show. I love to see my clients grow physically, emotionally and mentally through our work with Thai Massage. Those are rewarding moments for me. When a client comes in I have to put his or her needs before my own and think, act and feel in terms of them. Doing that on a regular basis helps me grow emotionally and strengthens my understanding of humanity. The key elements of being able to help someone through Thai Massage are: touch, energy, thought, and feeling. Once I lay my hands on the client, I read the energy, which helps point to where I should go. The thought of demonstrating metta (loving kindness) towards my client and feeling or sensing the client’s needs allow me to tailor the massage for the client.
Saya Phouthavong
Senior Practitioner
I was born in Laos, South Asia, and grew up in France. I spent more than 25 years in France and after finishing school I worked for an insurance company. After five years I began travelling the world. Travel became a way of self-discovery, showing me different lives in different situations. During this year I was introduced to Thai Massage while visiting Thailand. My first treatment was something I will always remember. It was an incredible experience! From there I took the opportunity to learn Thai Massage in Thailand, France and Canada, and in 2007 I started working at TMT. I can help my clients find a balance with their life, guiding and helping them to wellness of the mind, body and emotions. Having worked a stressful job, I am able to understand the stress and body issues that come with day-to-day life. Over the last seven years my style has evolved to become powerfully relaxing, meticulous and flexible. I have learned most of the things I know now from working with different clients and issues at TMT under the supervision of Deanna and Juan Villa.

Senior Practitioner
As a practitioner, I feel that Thai Massage really brings me into the moment. Focused is paramount so that I can sense what is happening in the body in front of me. What interests me in Thai Massage, as someone so physical on a day to day basis, is increasing motion and mobility in the people around me. I am also drawn to the idea of being able to physically help someone accomplish their tasks in life pain-free. I started dancing at the age of 7 and I now dance as an Independent Contemporary dance artist. With both dance and Thai Massage, everything is about movement and motion with ease and without tension. I would describe my style as fluid, not fluffy or cosmetic. I am compassionate to client needs, allowing me to give a unique and spectacular massage and giving me the opportunity to build a relationship with my clients. With both dance and Thai Massage, I want my clients to walk out feeling changed for the better.

Senior Practitioner
I am originally from Bangkok, Thailand. Growing up, I used to do Thai Massage for my grandmother, but I never thought of it as Thai Massage because it has been a part of our way of life for generations. While working as a cosmetician in a spa, my clients would ask me if I did Thai Massage because I am Thai. I saw Thai Massage as something I could do, and in 2006 I went home to Thailand and studied Thai Massage in the famous Wat Pho temple. When I came back, I felt peace in helping and healing people, making them feel better. Thai massage is mutually beneficial, helping my client's and good for me. It allows me to share the loving kindness with someone who is looking for this treatment. Thai massage is body work AND mind work. I am a Buddhist and I have learned about energy transference, and I can feel a connection with my clients through Thai Massage. I am also a yoga instructor and I practice hot stone massage, reflexology and Chinese medicine.
I continued my training here with Deanna at TMT
in advanced Thai Massage techniques and continue to grow in my practice.
Kimberley Church
Junior Practitioner
I have been a body worker since 2004, a career path that I chose because of an injury from when I was a small child. I started with Pilates and moved towards Thai massage in 2009. I was working with a theatre company warming the actors up with Pilates and the actors wanted something more restorative and that’s how I got into Thai Massage. Physically it keeps me quite limber and it’s a safe environment to stay active. Spiritually it keeps me connected; the meditation it requires keeps me disciplined. I practice Thai Massage for the metta (loving kindness). I love that there’s a tangible way to love humanity. I love the 1-on-1 aspect with people and the connection I build with clients. I would describe my style as patient. I wait for the body to release naturally and I don’t force it into an undesired position. Also, some people need to take time to feel safe and comfortable, and I’m willing to wait to foster that environment. I would also say I’m intuitive, listening to the body, being able to sense tension, whether it’s physical or emotional, spiritual.
Rowan McNamara Junior Practitioner
I’ve been interested in learning about alternative health for a number of years. In addition to Thai Massage, I also have Zen Shiatsu and Reiki training. I would see the TMT sign walking down Bloor Street, and as fate would have it I ended up training and working here. Things in my life tend to work out that way. I don’t plan. If I have the basics I can go with the flow. I enjoy the spiritual approach to bodywork and I don’t look at the body as a machine. I’ve had clients mention when working with them old memories and emotions tend to surface and are dispersed in a cathartic release. My style is grounded and intuitive. Being grounded allows me to be in the moment, sensing the energy. With intuition, I listen to the body, the mind and spirit and am able to be open to what they are telling me. I’m also very welcoming; I like to laugh with you, hear about your day and make you feel comfortable.
